This image was made in February 2021, on one sunny winter evening in Arunachal Pradesh. My family and I were on our way back home from a day-trip to the serene Parshuram Kund in eastern Arunachal and we made a pit stop at this one-horse town for snacks at a rustic dhaba.
As we waited for that ubiquitous salty yellow noodle bowl and a side of local river fish, I walked into the dark back area of the establishment - obscured in smoke from the wood fire in the kitchen (undoubtedly from our food being prepared). In no time, I watched as the smoke began to split the light of the waning sun around the wooden planks of the dhaba - a surreal vision only a landing alien ship would conjure.
Of course, such idyllic sights are common in rural places - where sunlight, wood fires and clear horizons are in abundance. For someone like me who settled in a city but always pines for such slow places and a slowness of life, this wasn’t just a pit stop for snacks… it was us - the aliens chancing upon this little 4-shop village...
...only I was as content as I ever could be.

Both papers are matte finished and look subtle yet elegant. The canvas lends an impressive texture to the images and makes them seem painterly.
The paper options come with a white border for easier framing. Per the chosen print the border will be 0.5-2 inches on each side of the print. The canvas option is made for gallery-wrapping i.e., there is no white border and the print is designed to fully stretch over the frame to create a sleek look. Please read the sizing guide for more info.
Do note that frames are not included by default but please contact us if you need your print framed - we'd be happy to provide guidance to you for having it done yourself; or send it to you framed and fully ready to mount on your wall (costs extra).
